    A Midsummer Night's Dream

    Join us as we bring our annual Shakespeare In the Park production to Academy Park! September 13-16, 2018
    Love.  It is the dream that we want to be ensnared in.  Powerful and magical, but at it’s worst, a fickle illusion.   Shakespeare’s classical comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream explores the duality of love in a magical, transformative production that asks: if we are in love are we ever in control? So bring your blankets, chairs or just yourselves and join us for an enchanting evening of classical theater under the stars. Each night's schedule will be as follows:

    Elf and Fairy Camp

    Elf and Fairy Camp

     

    September 10th-12th, 2018
    Give your child the experience of being part of Shakespeare In the Park at Academy Park!
    Nashville shakespeare Festival is offering Elf and Fairy Camp for ages 6-12.

    Camp Schedule: 4:00-6:30 Monday-Wednesday - training/rehearsals (Instruction begins at 4:30 to accommodate later school dismissals. The first 1/2 hour will be warm-ups and crafts.)
    Show schedule: Thursday-Sunday, 5:50pm call, 7:00pm performance

    Elf and Fairy Camp will include:
    - Role of Elf/Fairy in Shakespeare in the Park 2018's production of A Midsummer night's Dream where they will be taught the "Fairy Song" and dance for the show performing alongside the apprentice Company and professional actors.
    - Introduction to Shakespeare's use of language and play through sonnets and songs
    - One memorized sonnet, to be performed as part of the pre-show entertainment
    - An introduction to the Apprentice Company program

    Rehearsals and performances will take place here at Academy Park Performing Arts Center, 112 Everbright Avenue, Franklin, TN 37064

    Join Better Options, TN and enjoy A Night to Remember, where you will be treated to delicious food and drink while being dazzled by some of Opera's best, including Michelle Nicolo Prentice (soprano), Gregory Fisher (tenor), Barbara Santoro (piano and mezzo soprano) and featuring Dan DeFigio (piano).
    A Night to Remember is a fundraising event for Better Options, TN, whose mission is to help people of all nationalities assimilate and to engage them through Mentoring, Life coaching, Legal information, Housing and Rental Referrals, and Translation and Interpretation Services.

    In a secretive Victorian manor, Mark Twain, Edgar Allan Poe, Annie Oakley, and Arthur Conan Doyle are among the nineteenth century luminaries locked in a battle of wits and ideologies with a killer in their midst, as their dream for a modern utopia turns into a Gothic nightmare.
    This original comedic thriller by Blackbird founders Wes Driver and Greg Greene has earned critical acclaim, including recognition as Best New Play of 2010 by the Nashville Scene. The show has enjoyed subsequent productions in New York City, Memphis, and Jefferson City, and is back in Middle Tennessee by popular demand!

Featuring a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman, and book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, NEWSIES brings a timeless message, perfect for the whole family and every audience!

    Stay tuned for their next concert date! Five Points Swing was formed in 2011 by members of the Williamson County Community Band through the Williamson County Parks and Recreation department. In 2015, 501(c)(3) status was granted and we now operate in Middle Tennessee as a charitable organization. Comprised of 20 dedicated members, Five Points Swing has amassed a loyal fan base with music lovers of all ages. Playing hits from Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and more - the 5 Points Swing Band puts on a concert the whole family can enjoy! Plus - it's free, so you won't break the bank to have a swinging night out.
